We offer the following room types

We have 4, 6, 8 and 12-bed dorms. Let us know if you prefer a mixed, female-only or male-only dorm.

 Family Room

Camping

We can offer camping for tents, campervans, rooftop tents or overland trucks. Not suitable for caravans.

You will need your own camping equipment – either tent or car tent and be self-sufficient.

We do not supply power to campers but they are welcome to use all the facilities inside the lodge.

SHARED FACILITIES

All of our rooms have the following shared facilities:
1. Ladies only bathroom with 1 bath, 2 showers, 2 toilets and 3 basins.

• The bathrooms are cleaned on a daily basis by our cleaning ladies but guests are asked to tidy up after themselves aswell. No towels are provided so be sure to bring your own.

• Fully equipped kitchen with 2 fridges, 2 freezers, 4 gas rings, electric stove with oven, microwave, 2 kettles, 1 toaster, urn, pots and pans,  glasses and mugs, plastic bowls, crockery and cutlery.  

• Guests who are catering for themselves are asked to wash up, dry and put away the items they have used. Dishwashing liquid and clean tea towels are provided on a daily basis.

•  Our housekeepers clean all the shared facilities on a daily basis 7 days a week keeping them neat and tidy.

• Garden area with glass outdoor table seating 12 on benches, 3 braai/barbeque drums with grids, benches and tables set out under the tree where a small fire can be made. There is no smoking at all inside the building, but smokers can use the many outdoor areas where ashtrays are provided.

• Secure parking behind a fence and gate for vehicles.
• Reception area with countertop and 12 barstools for informal dining. Our reception is open from 8 am until 8pm every day of the week and is run by 3 staff members in shifts. We encourage all our guests to check-in between 2pm and 8pm, but we will help guests after that by arrangement. Check out is between 10 and 11 am in the morning. Early check-outs can also be accommodated by arrangement. There is also a key box behind the front door where key sets may be deposited securely at odd hours.

We reserve the right to supply a room of the same type where the room requested is not available.

Groups

The whole lodge may be booked by large groups not exceeding 72 people. Sufficient notice is required to make this kind of block booking so be sure to reserve the space and pay the deposit in good time. We then change some of the rooms by adding bunks in order to give everyone a bed. We are quite flexible and can work with you to come up with a room configuration that suits your specific needs. Groups may self-cater or book our catering service.

Rates

Dorm bed : R190 per bed per night

Private single, twin or double room: R440 per room per night

Private family room with double bed and double bunk

 R440 per night for 2 people

 Add R190 for 3^rd person = R630 per night for 3 people

Add another R190 for a 4^th person = R820 per night for 4 people

For couples with young kids add R100 per child under  10 years to the basic R440.

Please note that the rates quoted are for 2 nights or more. One night only stays are R220 for a dorm bed and R500 for a double. We have a 2 night minimum stay on weekends.

Camping : R100 per person per night.

All accommodation is subject to availability.

Services

• Catering service

We offer a catering service to groups. We only use top quality fresh ingredients and try to supplement store bought items with produce we grow ourselves whenever possible.

Helen has a flair for cooking and always goes all out to provide tasty meals.

English Breakfast – R65 per meal including tea/coffee.

Packed Lunch – R65 per brown bag

Hot Dinner – R85 per meal including a hot beverage or cold drink.

Organic Produce

We are passionate gardeners with a large vegetable garden next to the yellow house.  We often bring some of the produce to the lodge and offer it for sale to guests. We grow things like tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, cabbage, broccoli, potatoes, rocket and mint.

• Laundry Service

Hand in your laundry at reception in the morning. We can process your laundry at R90 per 5kg load in our machines. Your clothes will be washed, dried and folded and ready for collection in the evening of the same day or the next day. We have a complementary iron and ironing board if you need to iron anything. For those who prefer to do their own washing by hand, we have several large plastic basins which can be filled up in the garden area using the hosepipe. Washing lines and pegs are available for drying. You will need your own washing powder.

• WIFI

John has built up the infrastructure to supply internet to customers at the lodge and in the eco village. He makes sure that every guest is offered a free gig on arrival. After that, top ups are available at R20 per gig. If you need a lot of data then the bulk rate is R100 for 6 gigs or R200 for 15 gigs.

• Transfers

We have a Toyota Avanza with which we offer Cape Town Airport or Cape Town Bus Station  transfers.  R200 per journey for one or two people.  Add R100 per person for extra people. These transfers must be pre-arranged with the relevant information when making your booking.

• Short term luggage storage

We will store your bags for short periods if needed at no extra cost.

We accept credit card payments through Paybridge. We cannot process debit cards however.

We can send you a credit card link if you want to pay a deposit by credit card prior to your arrival.

Deposit required is 50% of total stay to secure your booking.

Payment can also be made in cash on arrival.

Cancellation conditions

• Cancel on arrival or during the stay – the full payment due may be levied.
• Cancel 0 – 14 days before arrival date or no show – full deposit paid is forfeited.
• Cancel 15 – 28 days before date of arrival – 75% of deposit paid or 25% of full quote value

(whichever is greater) is forfeited.

• Cancel 28 days + before date of arrival – 50% of deposit paid or 25% of full quote value

( whichever is greater) is forfeited.

Directions

FROM THE AIRPORT, take the N2 highway towards Cape Town City.

Take exit 10B to Pinelands/Raapenberg Road.

Merge left towards Pinelands then first left onto Alexandra Road.

Left into Oude Molen Eco Village opposite the Pinelands Railway Station.

Left onto ring road inside the eco village and follow the Lighthouse signs to the right.

Pass horse paddocks, yellow house and pool on the left. Our building is painted lilac and is marked as A.

Secure parking at the back.

FROM THE CITY, take the N2 highway towards the airport.

Take exit 10 to Pinelands.

First left onto Alexandra and follow directions listed above.
